| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a circular border. The legend reads the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) followed by the mint name Marrakesh and the AH date 1211, all struck in bold relief characteristic of Moroccan hammered silver coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, typical of the hand-struck dirhams of the Alaouite dynasty. A small circular perforation, likely applied post-strike for use as an ornament or talisman, is visible to the left of the central field. |
