The inscription identifies al-Hakam II by his laqab al-Mustansir Billah and his title Amir al-Mu'minin. The lettering is bold and angular, consistent with the refined Kufic style employed at the Madinat al-Zahra mint. The coin exhibits the slightly irregular, thin flan typical of hammered Andalusian dirhams of the mid-4th century AH. |
