Obverse description Pellet border encircles the field, with a counterclockwise marginal Arabic legend running along the periphery. At center, a facing bust of a turbaned prince is depicted in relief, wearing earrings or pendant ornaments and a draped cloak gathered at the chest by the left hand. The effigy is rendered in a distinctly Artuqid-influenced artistic style, characteristic of the Jazira region. Flanking the ruler's head on either side are short Arabic legends arranged in a counterclockwise orientation.
