| Reverse description | The reverse field presents multiple horizontal lines of Kufic script arranged within a plain inner circle, naming the Abbasid caliph as suzerain alongside the Buyid ruler Adud al-Dawla and his overlord Rukn al-Dawla, conforming to the standard Buyid practice of acknowledging both sovereign authority and Abbasid legitimacy. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs within a beaded border around the periphery, recording the mint name Shiraz and the date of issue. The hammered flan is slightly irregular at the edges, typical of provincial Iranian mint production of this period. |
