Obverse description Central field occupied by the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) and Quranic inscription arranged in multiple horizontal lines within a linear inner circle. The Arabic legends read in the field: 'There is no god but God alone, He has no partner; Muhammad is the Messenger of God, whom He sent with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists detest it.' A circular marginal legend in Arabic script surrounds the central inscription, separated by a beaded or cable inner border. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, with a suspension hole pierced near the upper rim, indicating secondary use as a pendant or ornament.
