Obverse description	The obverse presents an entirely epigraphic design typical of Umayyad-tradition dirhams struck in al-Andalus. The central field bears the shahada in three horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic script: 'There is no god except Allah, alone, He has no partners.' A circular marginal legend in Kufic script surrounds the central inscription, separated by a beaded inner border, reading the mint and date formula: 'In the name of Allah, this dirham was struck at Al-Andalus,' followed by the Hijri year. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with hand-hammered production, and the fields show the characteristic flat, unadorned style of Andalusian Emirate coinage.
