Obverse description Female head facing left, identified as a local nymph, rendered in archaic Greek style. The hair is bound in a sakkos decorated with a central band, characteristic of Phokaian coinage of the early fifth century BC. A rosette earring is visible at the ear. The portrait is executed with fine detail despite the small module, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting tradition of Ionian mints.
