Obverse description Facing right, the youthful head of Hermes rendered in archaic Greek style, wearing a broad-brimmed petasos adorned with a row of pellets along the brim. The hair falls in wavy, carefully rendered locks beneath the hat, and the facial features display the characteristic serene expression of late Archaic coinage. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered silver issues from this period.
