| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, rendered in archaic Greek style with fine incised detailing to the hair and facial features. The helmet bowl is smooth with a prominent neck guard, characteristic of Aeolian coinage of the fifth century BC. The portrait occupies the full flan with no surrounding legend or inscription. |
