| Reverse description | A large grain ear depicted with spread wings in the stylized Apulian convention, the ear oriented vertically at center with prominent lateral wings extending to either side, rendered in bold relief. The design conveys an emblematic reference to the agricultural fertility of the Daunian region. Above the winged grain ear, the civic ethnic legend ΑΡ is inscribed to the upper left, with ΠΑ appearing below, identifying the issuing city of Arpi. The flan is irregular and slightly worn, consistent with hammered coinage of this period. |
