Obverse description A long cross with a stylized tree or plant motif at its base divides the field into four quarters, each containing letters forming the horizontal legend ARAGON. A small cross pattée appears at the top of the central cross. The design is rendered in the bold, somewhat irregular style characteristic of 11th-century Iberian hammered coinage, with a beaded border around the periphery.
