The Empurian dineros of this period were struck in billon of notably low silver content, reflecting chronic fiscal strain rather than deliberate debasement policy — a distinction that matters when situating this issue against the broader Catalan monetary reforms of the early thirteenth century.
Cru#97 is among the scarcer documented Empurian types, with surviving examples concentrated in a handful of Catalan regional hoards.
