Obverse lettering + : FERDINANDVS
Reverse description Central field displays a plain pattée cross within a plain inner circle, struck in the flat relief typical of late medieval Navarrese billon issues. The arms of the cross are of equal length and slightly splayed at the terminals. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, reading + : SIT : NOMEN, representing the opening words of the pious inscription 'Sit Nomen Domini Benedictum' (Blessed be the Name of the Lord). The flan shows the characteristic irregular outline of hammered coinage.
