| Reverse description | Central field features a passant lion rampant facing left, rendered in bold relief within a beaded inner circle, consistent with the heraldic lion of León as used on the royal coinage of Alfonso X. The mane and body details are stylised in the Romanesque-Gothic tradition characteristic of mid-thirteenth-century Castilian billon coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, reading ET LEGIONIS, enclosed within a beaded outer border. The composition corresponds to the standard reverse type of the dinero burgalés attributed to the Seville mint. |
