Reverse description Central device features a lion passant rampant to the left, rendered with a heavily beaded or pellet-textured mane and muscular body in bold relief, emblematic of the Kingdom of León. The lion is depicted with its forepaws raised and tail curling upward, set within a lobate inner border of alternating arcs matching that of the obverse. The surrounding field is bounded by a beaded outer border, with the partial Latin legend distributed around the periphery. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, as is characteristic of hammered medieval Castilian billon coinage.
