Reverse description The reverse displays the heraldic emblems of the combined kingdoms of Castile and Leon, arranged in quadrants formed by a plain central cross. Castles representing Castile and rampant lions representing Leon alternate within the four quadrants, following the standard quartered arms of the Castilian-Leonese monarchy. The cross extends to the inner border of the coin, dividing the field symmetrically. The design is rendered in low relief and shows the crude but iconic style typical of 13th-century Iberian hammered billon dineros. A circular legend or border line frames the reverse, though worn details limit full legibility.
