The inscription fills the entire flan in the characteristic Alfonsine dinero style, with no central device, the lettering serving as the sole decorative and identifying element. The hammered flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the strike causing some letter compression at the edges. The script is bold and deeply impressed, typical of mid-13th-century Castilian monetary production. |
