Reverse description A bold plain cross pattée occupies the central field, extending to a beaded inner circle and dividing the surrounding legend into four quarters. The arms of the cross are broad and slightly splayed, characteristic of the Majorcan denier type. The marginal legend IACOBUS DEI GRA surrounds the central device, separated by a beaded border. The overall style is consistent with the standard reverse design of the Kingdom of Majorca's billon coinage under James II, struck on an irregularly shaped flan with characteristic hammered surface texture.
