Obverse description Central field contains a multi-line Arabic Kufic religious inscription arranged in horizontal lines within a plain inner circle. The inscription includes the Shahada and references to the Almoravid ruler. A secondary circular Arabic legend in cursive Maghribi script surrounds the inner circle, with a further marginal legend running along the outer border, all executed in high-relief hammered style characteristic of Almoravid gold coinage.

Reverse description Central field displays a multi-line Arabic inscription in Kufic script arranged within a beaded inner circle, containing pious formulae and the name of the Abbasid caliph. A circular Arabic marginal legend encircles the central medallion, with an additional outer border legend completing the religious and dynastic titulature, all struck in the bold raised relief typical of Almoravid hammered gold dinars.
