| Obverse description | Central square field containing multiple lines of Kufic and Naskh Arabic religious and dynastic legends, arranged in horizontal registers. The square is framed by a plain border, itself enclosed within a circular marginal legend in Arabic script running around the entire periphery. The field retains the characteristic Nasrid hammered gold dinar format, with densely packed calligraphic inscriptions filling the central panel. The outer circular legend is separated from the central square by plain borders. The overall design reflects the Almohad-derived typology continued by the Nasrid rulers of Granada. |
