Reverse description A stepped Zoroastrian fire altar with a tall, multi-tiered flame rising from its capital occupies the centre of the field. Flanking the altar stand two attendant figures facing inward, each depicted in Sasanian court dress with a sword at the hip; the figures are rendered symmetrically in the formal Sasanian style. A beaded border encircles the scene. A short Pahlavi inscription appears in the right field, identifying this as the fire of Varhran (Bahram).
