| 背面描述 | Enthroned bust of Christ Pantokrator facing, depicted frontally with a cruciform nimbus, raising the right hand in blessing and holding the Gospels in the left hand. The figure is set between two ornate throne posts rendered in dotted relief, reflecting a strong Byzantine iconographic tradition. The Greek Christological monogram appears in the field to either side of the nimbus. A beaded border frames the entire design. |

Stephen Nemanjić received his royal crown twice — once from the Pope in 1217 and again from the Serbian Archbishop Sava in 1219 — a deliberate political maneuver to secure legitimacy from both Rome and Constantinople simultaneously. His coinage reflects this transitional moment, drawing on Byzantine monetary conventions while asserting an independent Serbian royal authority that his father Stefan Nemanja had never formally claimed.
