Additional information

Stefan Uroš V inherited the Serbian Empire at its absolute territorial peak following his father Dušan's death in December 1355, then spent the next sixteen years watching it fragment. The great župans and lords who had been held in check by Dušan's iron authority began operating as independent powers almost immediately, leaving Uroš with a title — Emperor of the Serbs and Greeks — that outlasted the reality it described by well over a decade.

The inclusion of Anna on this issue almost certainly refers to his mother, the Empress Anna Nejda, who exercised considerable political influence during the early reign. Uroš died in 1371 without an heir, extinguishing the Nemanjić dynasty entirely.
