| Popis líce | Frontal bust of Emperor Stefan Uroš IV Dušan depicted in imperial regalia, wearing an ornate helmet adorned with floral and foliate decorations surmounted by a prominent plant motif. The emperor is shown in three-quarter length, clad in elaborately detailed armour with decorative bosses and cross ornaments, holding a sceptre or cross in his right hand. The facial features are rendered in a stylised Byzantine manner with a nimbus or crown framing the head. The surrounding field carries the Latin uncial legend STEFANVS INPERATOR, partially legible around the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The overall style reflects the strong Byzantine artistic influence prevalent in Serbian imperial coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. |
