| Reverse description | Christ Pantokrator is depicted seated frontally on a high-backed throne in strict Byzantine fashion, holding a jeweled Gospel book adorned with five gems against his left knee. His right hand is raised in a gesture of benediction. The scene closely imitates the reverse type of Byzantine aspron trachy coinage. The abbreviated Christogram legend ХС ІС (for Jesus Christ) appears in the field to either side of the enthroned figure, written in medieval Cyrillic following Byzantine epigraphic conventions. |
