| Obverse description | The Virgin Mary stands facing, depicted in the Byzantine orant tradition, extending her right hand in a gesture of blessing toward King Stefan Radoslav, who stands to her right holding a decorated cross-scepter in his right hand. The composition closely follows Byzantine iconographic conventions for the investiture of a ruler. Above and below the figures, titlo marks (҃) appear, serving as abbreviation indicators typical of medieval Slavic ecclesiastical script. The legend fragment Е҃АН is visible in the field, representing an abbreviated form of the king's name. |
