| 背面描述 | A fire altar (atasdan) occupies the center of the field, depicted as a tall column with an elaborately decorated capital and base, upon which the sacred flame burns. A pellet-in-crescent motif adorns the altar shaft. Flanking the altar on either side stand two royal attendants, each wearing a globe-surmounted crown and armed with a sword at the waist and a spear held upright; the figures are positioned with their backs to the altar in the conventional Sasanian attendant pose. A Pahlavi legend surrounding the design identifies the fire-temple as that of Shapur. |
