Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Shapur I facing right, wearing a tall mural crown surmounted by a korymbos (hair-globe). Three pellets are positioned below the terminals of the diadem. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic high-relief style of early Sasanian coinage, with bold facial features and elaborate regal headgear emphasizing royal authority.
