Beschrijving keerzijde Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in raised bold script, arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, recording the name and titles of the issuing khan Qazan Timur. A single word appears at the top of the field above the main legend block, likely indicating the mint name or a royal epithet. The inscription is enclosed within a partial single-line inner border. The coin exhibits characteristic Chagatai die workmanship with strong, deeply cut lettering and an irregular hammered flan showing edge cracks consistent with the period.

Aanvullende informatie

Qazan Timur's reign over the Chagatai Khanate was cut short by internal factional violence — he was assassinated in 1346, one casualty in the prolonged struggle between the sedentary Muslim western amirs and the nomadic eastern clans that would ultimately fracture the Khanate entirely. His few years on the throne produced a limited and geographically scattered coinage, most of it struck at Transoxanian mints under amir supervision rather than direct khan authority.

Album 2005 is among the scarcer Chagatai fractions.
