| Beschrijving keerzijde | A Zoroastrian fire altar with ribbons occupies the central field, flanked on either side by two standing royal attendants or priests in profile, facing the altar in a posture of reverence. The sacred flames rise from the altar's top, accompanied by a star in the upper left and a crescent in the upper right of the field, both being recurrent celestial symbols in Sasanian religious iconography. The composition is framed by a border, with Pahlavi legends in the surrounding field identifying the mint and regnal year. The overall design follows the canonical reverse type established for Sasanian gold dinars of the fifth century. |
