Reverse description Fully epigraphic reverse, consistent with the aniconistic Umayyad monetary reform of 77 AH (696–697 CE), featuring multiple lines of Kufic Arabic script arranged horizontally across the central field. The reverse legend references the Prophet Muhammad as the Messenger of God, along with additional Quranic text from Surah Al-Ikhlas. A marginal circular Kufic inscription borders the field, recording the mint formula and date. The surface retains a warm golden lustre characteristic of high-fineness Umayyad gold coinage.
