| Obverse description | Entirely epigraphic design typical of late Umayyad coinage, featuring multiple horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic script filling the central field. The central legend proclaims the Islamic declaration of faith (Shahada). A circular marginal legend in Kufic script runs along the inner border, containing a Quranic inscription. The coin exhibits the characteristic broad, thin flan of the hammered Umayyad dinar tradition, with slightly irregular edges. |
