The Christological nomina sacra IC XC appear in the fields flanking the figure, following the Byzantine iconographic convention standard on medieval Serbian dinars. The composition draws directly from Byzantine artistic tradition, reflecting the strong ecclesiastical and cultural influence on the Nemanjić-era Serbian court. |
