| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by a boldly struck Jochid tamga flanked by coarsely rendered Arabic legends reading al-nasir li-din Allah, the whole composition enclosed within a wide hexagonal border. The script is executed in an angular, provincial style characteristic of early Golden Horde coinage struck at Bulghar. The flan is irregular in shape and the striking is slightly off-center, consistent with hand-hammered production of this period. |
