Obverse description Hammered gold dinar with an ornate multi-lobed cartouche at center enclosing the Shahada and names of the first four Caliphs in fine Naskh script arranged in multiple lines. The central cartouche is framed by a circular marginal legend occupying a broad flat field. The outer border consists of a raised dotted or pellet ring following the irregular round flan. The overall design is characteristic of Ilkhanid calligraphic coinage, with no figural imagery, the entire decorative program devoted to Islamic inscriptions.
