| Reverse description | Two enthroned royal figures face one another across a central axis; the figure at left, crowned and draped, raises one hand in a gesture of investiture or greeting, while the seated figure at right, wearing an elaborate headdress and holding a sceptre, receives the gesture. A small attendant figure kneels between them at the base. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends appear in the upper field and along the margins. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border, and the scene is executed in the high-relief hammered style characteristic of early Sasanian royal coinage. |
