| Reverse description | Frontal enthroned figure of Christ Pantokrator, nimbed and depicted in Byzantine iconographic tradition, wearing imperial robes with richly rendered drapery folds. The right hand is raised in a gesture of benediction, while the left hand holds a book of the Gospels. A patriarchal cross appears to the left of the figure. The Greek monogram Iↄ Xↄ (or variant XC), denoting Jesus Christ, flanks the figure in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, with the irregular flan characteristic of hammered production. |
