| Beschrijving voorzijde | Standing effigy of King Chandragupta II in full regalia, facing left in a three-quarter pose, wearing an elaborate beaded necklace and a tall nimbus or halo behind the head. The king holds a large composite bow in his left hand, with his right arm raised, displaying the characteristic archer stance of the Gupta dynastic coinage. A Garuda standard or tall staff is visible to the left of the figure, while symbols appear in the right field. The design is executed in the bold, high-relief hammered style typical of Gupta imperial gold coinage, with Brahmi legend running along the left margin reading 'Deva Sri Maharaja Dhiraja Sri Chandragupta'. The flan is broad and irregular, consistent with hand-struck gold dinars of the period. |
