| Descrizione del dritto | Central field contains the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) in three lines of Kufic Arabic script: 'There is no god but God alone, He has no associate.' The central inscription is enclosed within a circular marginal legend running along the inner border, containing a Quranic verse (9:33) attesting to the mission of the Prophet. The coin is entirely epigraphic with no figural imagery, reflecting the aniconic reform coinage introduced under Caliph Abd al-Malik. The script is angular early Kufic, precisely struck on a slightly irregular flan typical of Umayyad hammered gold coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field bears a three-line Kufic Arabic inscription reading 'God is One, God is Eternal, He begetteth not neither is He begotten,' derived from Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-3). A marginal circular legend surrounds the central text, recording the Bismillah formula and the date of issue in the Hijri calendar. The reverse, like the obverse, is entirely epigraphic in the aniconic tradition of the post-reform Umayyad coinage. The lettering is rendered in angular early Kufic and is well-centered on the flan. |
