| Obverse description | Typical Fatimid-influenced concentric circle design comprising multiple raised annular rings radiating outward from a central pellet, with Arabic religious legends arranged in the intervening bands. The innermost field contains a brief Quranic or honorific inscription, while successive circular registers bear additional text. The outer marginal legend runs along the periphery of the flan. The overall design is characteristic of Yemeni dinars of the Ziyadid period, displaying the bold, somewhat irregular execution typical of hammered gold coinage of the region. |
