Obverse description Central field occupied by multiple horizontal lines of Naskh Arabic legend arranged within a plain inner circle, naming the Ayyubid sultan al-Kamil Muhammad and referencing the mint of Alexandria. The inscriptions are executed in bold relief with characteristic Ayyubid calligraphic style. A secondary marginal legend in Naskh script runs continuously around the outer border, enclosed between two concentric linear borders forming an annular frame. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of Ayyubid hammered gold coinage.
