The central field carries the Shahada (profession of faith) in two lines. The inner circular band bears the name and titles of the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir li-Din Allah as suzerain, together with the name of the Ayyubid sultan al-'Aziz 'Uthman. The outer marginal legend, separated by a raised linear border, records the Basmala, the mint name Misr (Cairo), and the regnal year of issue. |

| Description du revers | Reverse of entirely epigraphic type, structured in three concentric zones of Arabic script consistent with Ayyubid dinar convention. The central field displays the sultan's name and patronymic across three lines: al-Malik al-'Aziz / 'Uthman ibn Yusuf / Salah al-Din, affirming his dynastic lineage to Saladin. The inner circular band carries the Quranic verse of the Mission (Quran IX:33), proclaiming the Prophet Muhammad as the messenger sent with guidance and the religion of truth. The outer marginal legend completes the Quranic citation with the phrase 'even though the polytheists may detest it,' framed within a raised border ring. |
