Reverse description Central field displays a five-line Arabic inscription in naskh script naming the four Rightly-Guided Caliphs: 'Abu Bakr / wa-'Umar / wa-'Uthman / wa-'Ali', a formulaic invocation standard on Saadian coinage. The mint and regnal year statement 'Duriba bi-Marrakush sana (date)' appears in the lower register, identifying the Marrakesh mint. A double beaded circular border encloses the central legend, with a continuous marginal inscription around the periphery. The flan is hand-struck and slightly uneven at the edges, consistent with Saadian hammered gold dinars of the early seventeenth century.
