The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border of dots running along the coin's periphery. The portrait displays good relief with naturalistic facial features characteristic of late Hellenistic Cretan coinage. |

A palm tree occupies the central field, flanked on the left by the magistrate's name ΣAMAΓOPAΣ inscribed in two lines, and on the right by an eagle standing left with wings displayed. The ethnic legend IEPAΠYTNΩN appears alongside the magistrate's name, with a control mark TMOB also present. The entire design is enclosed within an olive or laurel wreath border, a hallmark of Cretan civic coinage of this period. |
