Reverse description Zeus Labraundos standing in three-quarter view to the right, depicted as a bearded, mature deity draped in a chiton and himation about the lower body. In his raised right hand he holds aloft the distinctive double-headed axe known as the labrys, the emblematic cult weapon of the sanctuary at Labraunda, while his left hand grasps a long sceptre held upright at his side. The figure is rendered with careful attention to drapery folds. The Greek legend ΠΙΞΩΔΑΡ appears vertically in the right field, reading downward, identifying the issuing dynast Pixodarus. The composition combines Carian religious iconography with the authority of the ruling satrap.
