Obverse description Bare head of Apollo Karneios facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, wavy hair swept back from the brow and gathered behind the head. A small horn rises from the forehead, the characteristic attribute identifying the deity as Karneios, the ram-horned Apollo venerated at Cyrene. The facial features are finely modelled with a strong profile, slightly parted lips, and a well-defined chin. The field is otherwise plain, with no legend or inscription.
