| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Nero Claudius Drusus facing right, rendered with characteristic naturalistic portraiture of the Julio-Claudian period, the hair rendered in fine wavy locks beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait is slightly draped at the shoulder, consistent with posthumous honorific representations issued under the emperor Claudius. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the subject by his full cognomina and imperial title. |
