| Beschrijving voorzijde | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in high relief with fine artistic execution characteristic of late 4th century BC Macedonian-influenced coinage. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, adorned with an elaborately rendered crest and cheek guards. Her flowing hair emerges beneath the helmet, falling in wavy locks around the neck. The portrait is rendered with confident die-cutting, the facial features displaying a strong profile with a well-defined nose and chin. A plain dotted border frames the composition. |

The animal is rendered with naturalistic musculature and animated posture, consistent with the numismatic tradition of Paeonian royal coinage. The Greek legend ΑΥΔΩΛΕΟΝΤΟΣ (of Audoleon) is inscribed around the upper field, identifying the issuing king. A monogram or control mark, appearing as an 'A' with a crossbar, is visible in the lower field beneath the horse. The reverse presents a bold, well-centred design typical of the Astibos or Damastion mint series attributed to King Audoleon. |
