A rose bud on a stem rises to the right of the main flower, while a filleted thyrsos is placed to the left. The magistrate's name ΑΕΤΙΩΝ is inscribed in Greek above the rose, and the ethnic abbreviation P O (for ΡΟΔΙΩΝ) appears in the lower field to either side of the stem, all within a beaded border. The composition is characteristic of the classic Rhodian didrachm type attributed to the magistrate Aetion. |
