Reverse description A crab depicted frontally in high relief, with both claws raised symmetrically at the top and eight legs splayed laterally across the field, rendered with considerable anatomical detail in the archaic Sicilian style. The creature is set within a shallow concave incuse circle, a hallmark of early Sicilian coin production influenced by Pythagorean monetary concepts. No legend accompanies the type. The incuse treatment creates a bold, contrasting effect against the raised obverse design.
